Check out past years' Photogalleries | 2008 Event Recaps The 2008 Summer Hoops Tour, led by Sixers Ambassador of Basketball World B. Free, will continue to offer children instruction on the basic fundamentals of basketball, tips on how to improve their game, and advice on the importance on education. In addition to improved basketball and life skills, the children will witness Hip-Hop and the Hare Raisers perform the same acrobatic, high-flying dunks as seen during 76ers Home Games. Sixer’s front office staff and Hoops Tour Coaches will assist Free in coaching the youngsters the basic fundamentals of the game, including passing, shooting, dribbling, defense and conditioning. “I like to let the kids know that basketball and sports are great,” said Free. “But not everyone can be Andre Iguodala or Lebron James. It's important to get your education. Today, if you don't have an education, you're really lost.” The Summer Hoops Tour allows the Philadelphia 76ers the opportunity to give back to the community. It provides young Sixers fans with a safe, fun, positive place to enjoy their summer vacation.
