LAS VEGAS, July 17, 2008 – Ramon Sessions and his Milwaukee Bucks were too much for the Denver as they dismissed the Nuggets 79-67 in the final game on Thursday at the 2008 NBA Summer League Presented by EA SPORTS.
The Bucks were led by their backcourt tandem of Ramon Sessions and Roderick Wilmont. Sessions turned in a good all-around performance with 13 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds while Wilmont chipped in 13 points of his own.
The low-scoring first quarter ended with the Nuggets holding a four-point edge, 17-13, with swingman Dahntay Jones having nine of the team's 17.
Milwaukee came out with great energy in the second period as they started off on a 12-2 run and led by as many as 10 which resulted in a 31-24 lead going to the locker room.
With Denver shooting 30.2 percent from the field for the game at the time, the Bucks were able to stay at a safe distance ahead in the third quarter leading 57-49.
The fourth period saw the Bucks hold on tight to their advantage and never let it go; back-to-back field goals with 5 minutes left from Joe Alexander gave Milwaukee a nice cushion to finish the game.
The Nuggets lone double figure scorer in the contest was Dahntay Jones with 20 points.
Notes: Denver takes the court against Houston in the last game of the day on Friday in Thomas & Mack Center and Milwaukee next plays Sunday afternoon against Cleveland.
