Caron Butler, Southwest Airlines and the Washington
Wizards invite 11-18 year olds in the Washington DC
Metropolitan area to participate in the 2nd year of
the character education program: Caron’s 3Ds
to Succeed. Caron Butler had some struggles as he
was growing up, but his 3Ds -- Dedication, Determination
and Discipline -- got him through the hard times and
made him into a strong and successful All-Star, both
on and off the court. In order to motivate teens in
the Washington DC Metropolitan area to use these 3Ds
to Succeed, Caron and the Wizards will recognize and
reward local youth who have used one of these 3Ds
to overcome adversity, build character or power achievement
and to succeed in their own lives.
Submissions will be accepted by the 15th of each
month -- October through March -- with winners honored
at games scheduled in the months immediately following.
The winners will receive two Wizards complimentary
tickets to the game at which they are being honored
and participate in the halftime presentation. In addition,
courtesy of Southwest Airlines, each winner will have
the use of a suite at another, mutually-agreed upon
Wizards game where they can bring up to 18 guests.
Finally, a grand prize of two roundtrip Southwest
Airlines tickets will be awarded to the top two entries.
