Would your Elementary School students benefit from a Reading Time-Out with the Washington Wizards? The Wizards Reading Time-Outs are a part of the NBA’s Read to Achieve program, created to get children excited about reading and to promote the value of reading and literacy. Four times during the upcoming NBA season, the Wizards will bring a special classroom on a field trip to the Verizon Center. The Wizards will send a bus to bring one classroom of students with their adult chaperones to the Verizon Center where a Wizards player will read aloud with the students and talk about the importance of reading.

The Wizards extended the opportunity to teachers at all the Elementary Schools in the DC Metropolitan Area to fill out the entry form to let us know why their class deserves a Reading Time-Out from the Wizards. The deadline has passed for this year and below are the Teachers who will have a field trio to the Verizon Center for a Reading Time-Out from the Wizards this year. Please look for the contest again next year in August. Thank you for all the participation and great essays.
